Lee is one of the Clinical Directors at Efficacy and founded Efficacy in 2003. He provides independent cognitive behavioural therapy to individuals and groups while designing and overseeing service development.
In addition to his clinical work, Lee provides CBT consultancy to King’s College London as a lecturer practitioner and is the Programme Leader for three MScs in CBT, offering post-graduate training to mental health professionals. His academic role includes the overall management of the programme, teaching, providing clinical supervision and assessing and grading students.
In the eight years before co-founding Efficacy, Lee worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist managing CBT NHS services in primary and secondary care across London. Lee began his career as a mental health professional in 1988 and had continuously worked as a clinician, building up extensive experience and expertise.
Lee’s areas of interest are supervision and mental health consultancy. He trains and advises other CBT therapists on how to provide adequate supervision. Lee still provides peer supervision, oversees all the postgraduate supervision at King’s College London and provides supervision and CBT training to other healthcare professionals. Also, Lee provides mental health consultancy to external organisations.
In his clinical work, Lee specialises in anxiety disorders, depressive illness, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship problems, couples therapy and sex therapy. Lee sits as a committee member for the BABCP Supervisory Group, reflecting his expertise in this area.
