Mirco moved to London from Italy in 1997. He has been working in the addiction field in a variety of roles since 2003 and is currently employed by the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust where he delivers individual and group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to those affected by concomitant mood disorders, personality disorders and addiction.
Mirco provides CBT for depression and anxiety disorders including OCD, PTSD, generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks and social phobia; and for people experiencing difficulties with substances or problematic behaviours such as web-based gaming, gambling, sex and eating. He often works with patients who have created unhealthy habits to self-medicate the negative effects of protracted stress.
Mirco has a special interest in exploring the role of alcohol and substances in maintaining the cycle of depression and anxiety. He is currently developing a therapy plan for those abusing stimulants and new psychoactive substances (including ketamine, mephedrone, GHB-GBL, spice). Mirco also has a keen interest in working with those affected by OCD, generalised anxiety disorder and panic disorder.
