Since qualifying as a mental health nurse, Sean has worked in a multitude of different clinical settings developing therapeutic interventions for service users and their families. After training in cognitive behavioural therapy, Sean gained several years’ experience working in both the private and public sector, providing structured Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to individuals who have experienced a variety of mental health problems. In this time, Sean’s level of expertise has widened to treat those with very complex and severe psychological difficulties. He also provides supervision to other practitioners and assists on academic courses for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies. He has been a clinical tutor at the University of Liverpool since 2011. Sean continues to see clients in NHS and private settings, completing regular training to ensure that he is up to speed with the latest research and evidence-based treatment methods.
