What is CBT?
CBT is a way of helping you to cope with stress, disorders and emotional problems by looking at the connection between how you think, how you feel and how you behave.
With CBT, you’ll see how problems from your past continue to affect you in the here and now, and you’ll learn new methods of coping and problem-solving which you can use for the rest of your life.
Using CBT, you can catch yourself have unrealistic ideas or engaging in negative self-talk, both of which can undermine your self-confidence and make you feel depressed or anxious. How you approach these unrealistic ideas and self-talk can help you work out different ways of thinking and behaving so you can cope better; whatever life may bring.
