Experience

Fabio started working with Efficacy in 2010.  Before that, he worked in the NHS and other community-based services with people suffering from a variety of chronic physical and mental health conditions. For five years, he was employed as an NHS community case manager to patients with complex long-term conditions under Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH).

Fabio currently works for the South London, and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Foundation Trust in a highly specialised service under the Chronic Fatigue Research and Treatment Unit providing innovative CBT focused interventions as part of research projects.  He is also involved in a research trial investigating the efficacy of CBT for medically unexplained symptoms such as Fibromyalgia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Non-Cardiac Chest Pain (NCCP), Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) and some neurological conditions.

From working in endocrine specialist services both at Bart’s and King’s College Hospital, Fabio has developed extensive knowledge regarding the impact of stress and emotional disturbances on the body through hormonal changes compromising psychological wellbeing.  Fabio’s interest in CBT developed while undertaking his Advanced Nursing PgDip at King’s College London.  Since then, he has continued to develop his CBT skills, practice and expertise actively.

Special Interests

Fabio’s areas of interests are depression and anxiety disorders, such as social and performance anxieties, in particular difficulties occurring alongside other physical health conditions or disabilities.  He also has experience in mindfulness-based CBT and Compassion Focused Therapy.
