Alongside her clinical roles, Sarah has worked as a Lecturer Practitioner on the BSc in CBT at King’s College London. This academic role involved teaching, clinical supervision and the assessment of students’ clinical and academic progress. Sarah worked in the NHS for a total of 19 years. Before training as a CBT therapist, Sarah worked as a mental health nurse.
Sarah joined the team in 2013. Before joining Efficacy, Sarah spent 12 years working in the NHS as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. Her most recent role was working as a Senior Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in a secondary care psychotherapy department in east London. This role involved providing CBT to clients with a wide variety of complex problems. She was also responsible for the clinical supervision of junior therapists and trainees. Also, Sarah is trained and experienced in schema therapy; compassion focused therapy and mindfulness. Sarah developed and managed a CBT service at St Mary’s Hospital in London. Her clinical work there included providing CBT for clients with chronic medical problems, medically unexplained symptoms, perinatal depression and postnatal depression.
Sarah’s special interests include working with people suffering from depression, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem, medical problems and post-natal depression. She is an accomplished clinician who is dedicated to working with clients to overcome their problems.
