Sherene currently works part-time at Efficacy and is also undertaking further training to become an EMDR Practitioner.
Sherene has 8 years’ experience working with common and severe mental health problems. Some of her roles have included Mental Health Advisor, Support Worker and Social Therapist working in IAPT services and specialist secondary care adult mental health services within East and South East London.
Prior to qualification as a CBT Therapist, she worked as a Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner in the NHS using a guided self-help approach with clients. Guided self-help is particularly effective for clients that may wish to manage their mental health more independently.
Sherene specialises in Student Mental Health and has extensive experience working with staff and students in Higher Education. Previous roles have included working within Counselling services in Kings College London and University of Arts.
Sherene enjoys working with a range of anxiety disorders. Her special interests include stress management, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic, specific phobias and depression. She has a particular focus on promoting emotional wellbeing by developing resilience and effective coping strategies to improve ones quality of life.
