Suzanne joined Efficacy in 2018 and is a highly accomplished clinician, supervisor and trainer who is dedicated to working with clients to overcome their problems.
Since qualifying as a CBT therapist in 2002, Suzanne has extensive experience working with clients with complex needs and in a specialist Anxiety Disorders and Trauma Service. Suzanne is also trained and experienced in Schema Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. Before training as a CBT therapist, Suzanne worked as a Mental Health Nurse for 12 years and is also trained in General Nursing.
In addition to her independent practice, Suzanne’s main role is working in a University delivering a Post Graduate CBT programme. Suzanne works as a trainer and supervisor ensuring therapists achieve and maintain the CBT competencies required to be effective therapists. Suzanne’s academic role as a trainer and supervisor involves delivering teaching, providing clinical supervision and overseeing the assessment of students’ clinical and academic progression.
Suzanne’s special interests include working with people with anxiety disorders such as OCD, Panic, Social Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, trauma, depression and low self-esteem. In addition to her clinical practice, Suzanne is a keen and enthusiastic educator and supervisor, providing high-quality training and supervision to a trainee and qualified CBT therapists.
