Tiina is an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with over 13 years' experience. She graduated in psychology and counselling from Roehampton University in 2008 while gaining experience at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, assisting post-trauma victims and their families and also working in community counselling services. This included treating depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol recovery and supporting the bereavement process. Before joining Efficacy in early 2015, Tiina spent six years working at an NHS primary care service in Hertfordshire. She has successfully launched and maintained her private practice for the last three years. Tiina strives for clinical excellence by following new developments in scientific research. She has recently completed a mindfulness course in stress reduction and is currently undertaking training for EMDR for children (she is already an EMDR practitioner for adults).
In addition to problems caused by anxiety, trauma, stress and low self-esteem, Tiina’s areas of interest include the effects of diet on cognitive functioning, memory and mood. She is also involved in collaborative research on factors that affect cognitive functioning.
