Professor Marcantonio Spada achieves fellowship at the British Psychological Society
We are delighted to announce that Professor Marcantonio Spada has been made Fellow of the British Psychological Society (FBPsS).
The fellowship is the highest designation that the society can award and is bestowed to an individual who is adjudged to have made an outstanding contribution to the advancement or dissemination of psychological knowledge or practice.
Professor Spada has authored over 140 peer reviewed scientific articles, seven book chapters and three books making an important contribution to understanding the role of metacognition in addictive behaviours. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the leading addiction psychology and psychiatry journal Addictive Behaviours and Founding Editor-in-Chief of its sister journal Addictive Behaviours Reports.
Professor Spada joined the Efficacy team in 2011 and consults from the Harley Street clinic.
Professor Spada’s areas of clinical expertise include:
- Addictive Behaviours
- Anxiety problems - Generalised Anxiety, Worry, Panic Attacks, Phobias and Social Anxiety
He has also worked extensively in the application of CBT to coaching for occupational functioning, such as achieving better life-work balance, improving cognitive performance, managing work-related stress and tackling performance anxiety.
