CBT Therapy in Edinburgh by Kitty Burton
Perhaps you feel like the same problems, and relationship patterns keep repeating themselves? Maybe you have talked to family and friends and tried different approaches to move on with your life? Possibly you may not be quite able to define what you are feeling, or your emotions might seem overwhelming as if you cannot understand or control them?
As an accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist (CBT) in Edinburgh, I can offer you a safe, confidential place to talk about your life and any psychological distress that may be negatively affecting your well-being. I can work with you to overcome problems such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and low self-confidence.
I am a BABCP accredited CBT therapist and have since 2005 used evidence-based therapies, particularly CBT to help a large number of people get better and manage their mental wellbeing. I am a registered mental health nurse and have spent more than 15 years providing psychological therapies working with GP’s in NHS Primary Care. I have specialist training in Mindfulness and use a number of mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural approaches when applicable. Mindfulness, which teaches us to stay grounded in the present, develop kindness towards ourselves and others, and regulate our emotions has been shown to have positive benefits for mental health.
If you are new to therapy, it can feel a bit daunting to make contact but our friendly service team is on hand by phone, email or the contact form on this page or via the link ‘Contact Us’ to get a timely appointment arranged at your convenience.
The first appointment will enable us to have a relaxed conversation about what you need to help you move on in your life and feel better and how CBT may assist you with this.
It helps by being able to speak to someone who can relate to how you feel and can explain why you feel the way you do. Kitty did just that.
