I am a BABCP accredited CBT therapist helping people with anxiety problems, depression and trauma. I also have extensive experience as COSRT accredited sex therapist working within the NHS and a sex therapy service, and a specialist midwife within perinatal mental health services. I have worked for Relate as a psychosexual and relationship therapist for a number of years.
My career started in health care as a midwife. Furthering my studies, I completed a BSc in reproductive and sexual health, a postgraduate diploma in psychosexual therapy, a Relate certificate in relationship therapy, a postgraduate diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and EMDR Europe Accredited training in eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). I have also completed an MSc in psychological trauma and have a special interest in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
My private practice offers psychosexual and relationship therapy, CBT and EMDR. I have clinics in north Wales and on the Wirral.

What is CBT?
CBT looks at how we think and how this affects the way we act in any given situation. In turn, what we do can affect how we think and feel. The CBT therapist and client work together in changing the client’s behaviours, their thinking patterns, or both of these.
What is EMDR?
EMDR is a therapy which helps you to work through traumatic memories safely, helps our brain’s memory networks to connect, and allows our brain to process traumatic memories. EMDR can sometimes help with other anxiety problems.
What is psychosexual therapy?
Psychosexual or sex therapy is specifically designed to help people with sexual difficulties that are of a psychological, and too difficult or complex to be resolved on their own.
What is sex therapy?
Sex therapy is a form of relationship therapy that looks to improve communication and resolve problems and issues within an intimate relationship.
