Andrew graduated in 1997 with a degree in Psychology and Criminology at Teesside University. After a short period working for Parcelforce and studying for a Masters in Forensic Psychology, Andrew moved over to Yorkshire in 2001 and had never found a reason to leave.
He spent just over ten years working in the criminal justice sector, both in secure service and in the community. In his time, he has worked with both male and female offenders, conducting risk assessments and working with people to reduce their risk of reoffending. It was in the latter period of his career in forensics Andrew discovered how effective CBT could be in affecting change in people.
From this point, Andrew decided to change his career path and concentrate more on treating people with mental health needs. He graduated at the Salford Cognitive Therapy Centre in late 2012 and continued to work in the NHS as well in private practice.
An accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists, Andrew focuses on keeping his skills up to date, as well as looking for new developments within the field to help move people forward.
Andrew has experience in working with a wide variety of mental health issues but has a particular interest in working with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), chronic worry and PTSD, as well working with clients who have co-occurring Asperger’s/Autism.
