Gemma has several years’ experience of working in the NHS, on an acute private psychiatric ward and with seeing private clients in the community. She has experience with working with clients with a variety of difficulties and varying complexities and severity. She works with clients suffering from a variety of mood disorders such as panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, social phobia and post-traumatic stress disorder. She also uses evidence-based CBT techniques to help clients suffering from depression. While Gemma is primarily trained in CBT she draws upon more recent 'third wave' interventions such as compassion focused therapy and mindfulness as these techniques are often very effective for reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety.
