Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Lisa has over 20 years of working in the field of mental health. She trained as a Registered mental health nurse in Sheffield in 1997. She gained experience working with a wide range of mental health disorders both in hospital and community settings before training to be a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in 2009. Since then, she extended her skills by training in EMDR and specialising in trauma therapy. She has also recently completed her training to become a mindfulness teacher.
Lisa has been a fully accredited member of the NMC since 1997 and the BABCP since 2010.
Lisa has a particular interest in working with clients with trauma symptoms and also in working with self-esteem issues and perfectionism. She has extensive experience of working with depression and anxiety disorders across the mental health disorders spectrum, such as perfectionism, Generalised anxiety disorder, Social phobia, OCD, PTSD, panic, phobias, and chronic pain.
She has a particular interest in working using third wave therapies such as Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness as she believes these can complement CBT and or be used as stand-alone treatment options.
Lisa takes a holistic approach to therapy and the therapeutic relationship. Her work is evidence-based, as per Nice Guidelines; however, she can use her interpersonal skills to apply therapy principals to design specific individualised treatment plans.
Lisa is available to provide face to face, telephone, Skype and online therapy.
