Valuing Coping Mechanisms
CBT has helped change the way I think about distress and has provided valuable coping mechanisms to help recognise why I feel the way I do, I accept this and take steps to resolve it.
I no longer catastrophise situations and can control how I react to situations. It has given me much needed clarity on how to deal with stress - personal, work and relationships with men. I am now able to assess the situation and use the evidence rather than the spin I put on it due to my heightened insecurities, fear and paranoia.
It also helped me to understand my mental mechanics better- finding myself and balancing emotions. Timing is important, the structure of these sessions was tailored to me and what was going on with me week by week.
